DV Lottery online results check not gives me the result?
If you have already applied for the DV Lottery and you want to check your status online to see whether you are selected for the program or not, go to this web site and fill the required fields and submit it. If it is not giving you the result then check the following things. - Is your confirmation number is 16 characters long (example: 20111OSOUYL3DOV9).
If no, it is a wrong code. And you can get the result.
- Your Last name. It must be the same as you wrote in the E-DV application form last year.
- Your year of birth. It must be the same as you wrote in the E-DV application form last year.
If any of the above is not correct you won't get the DV lottery online check result.
Can I use an Immigration Service to apply for me?
Yes, all the entries will be treated equally whether you apply yourself or through any agency.
Can I include my children names later when I am selected as a winner?
No, you must include all your eligible children names and photos when you are entering to the lottery.
If you don't do so, you will be disqualified.
Can a person send application by postal mail?
No, only entries will be accepted through Internet only.
Can a husband and wife each apply separately?
Yes, as primary applicant eligible husband can apply including his wife as spouse.
Thus eligible wife too can apply as primary applicant including her husband as spouse. If one of them win both of them can immigrate together.
I am living away from my wife can I apply alone?
No, you must include her in your application. If you are legally divorced you don't need to include your wife.
Can another person apply for me?
Yes, it is allowed but you can apply only once with your name as primary applicant. If a person apply more than once with his name as primary applicant, all the entries will be rejected, regardless whoever applied them.
How will I know whether I am selected for the visa lottery or not?
If you are selected for the DV 2011 visa lottery program the result as winning notification will come to your home by regular postal mail around May till July 2010.
From July 1, 2010, until June 30, 2011 you can check it out online in the dv lottery web site. For this you will be required to provide your confirmation number and your personal information. If provide the required information the web site will show whether you are selected for the Green card lottery or not.
I am coming from a non eligible country but my spouse come from an eligible country. Am I allowed to apply for the DV Lottery? You are born in a non eligible country. You can't participate in the DV Lottery. If you are legally married to a person who was born in an eligible country, then you can apply for the DV lottery claiming your spouse country for eligibility. The important thing is that if you are selected for the DV lottery program and was issued with the required visas you must enter in to the USA together with your eligible country born spouse. If you try to enter the USA alone, you will not be allowed to enter under the DV lottery program.
My father was selected as a green card lottery winner where I and mother are his dependants. Due to some sudden illness he passed away. Is my mother and myself are eligible to attend the visa interview to get the visas?
Sorry, as the lottery winner was your father he is the one to face the interview along with you. As he is not alive you can't claim his green card lottery winning.
